Racquet Restring

Keeping your racquet freshly restrung is essential for consistency, power and control. As a general guide, social players who hit once a week should restring every 6 months, while competitive or frequent players who train 3+ times per week should restring every 6–8 weeks. And of course, if you break a string, it’s time for a restring straight away.

Simply write your name, preferred string type and tension, and hand your racquet to us at the courts. We aim to have your racquet restrung within 2–3 business days, ready for your next hit.

If you’d like help choosing the right string or tension, our coaches can guide you based on your playing style, experience and goals.

Which string should I choose?

It depends on your level and how you like your racquet to feel.

• Beginners & social players: A soft, comfortable string like a multi-filament gives easy power and reduces arm strain.

• Intermediate players: A mix between comfort and control, often a hybrid setup (polyester + multi-filament).

• Advanced & competitive players: A full polyester string for maximum control, spin and durability.

If you’re unsure, we can recommend the best option based on your game.

Beginners generally play best with a lower tension (around 48–52 lbs).

Lower tension gives:

• more power
• a bigger sweet spot
• more comfort and forgiveness

As players improve, they may move toward higher tensions (52–58 lbs) for extra control and precision.

You may need a restring if:

• your strings feel flat or “dead”
• the sound on impact has changed
• you’re losing power or control
• the strings are fraying or moving a lot
• it’s been more than 4–6 months since your last restring

Fresh strings make a massive difference to performance and feel.

Most juniors use soft, comfortable multi-filament strings or hybrid setups so they can develop proper technique without straining their arm. As they progress into competitive tennis, they may shift toward polyester strings for more control.

We aim to have your racquet ready within 2–3 business days. Faster turnaround may be available depending on the week — just ask.
